Me.

Hello, my name is Charlene and I'm a Singaporean, born and raised by my Filipino mother and Singaporean-Chinese father in a quiet corner of my tiny island nation. I live a stone's throw away from a gorgeous reservoir and my house is surrounded by vegetable farms. I didn't eat vegetables till I was about 17 though.

I'm most commonly associated with the thing I do the most, which is singing. I've been singing for as long as I can remember, and I began publicly performing to live audiences in 2009, although my first public performance was in Junior College, in 2007. I began performing professionally in the lounges of 5-star hotels and clubs by sheer luck and accident, all because I decided to sing a birthday song for my dad one evening at Sheraton Towers, where I got spotted. I then participated in Singapore Idol in 2009, where I made the cut amongst 4000 hopefuls to form the Top 13 Females at the age of 19. In addition to singing, I play classical piano, strum the guitar, and occasionally work with synthesizers.

Apart from singing, I have an avid love for sports and have always been extremely active as a child. I represented my university as part of the cross-country/track team, and had some of my proudest national sporting achievements during that time.

Fast-forward to the present, I currently sing part-time for private and corporate functions both locally and overseas, juggling that with my challenging and exciting day-job as an Oil Broker. In addition to that, I also host and emcee for events, and do mini-cameos for local commercials and short films.

In my private moments, I enjoy spending time with a good book and writing poetry and prose. While I love animals and wildlife, I have an especially soft spot for avian-life; I have two precocious little African Lovebirds named Gili and Nin who give me unimaginable joy.
